A 20-year-old woman from Omaha, Nebraska, was arrested for child exploitation. Some of her charges include creating and distributing child exploitation images and/or videos.
A 33-year-old man contacted a 13-year-old girl on Snapchat and posed as a therapist. After a few weeks of messaging and video chatting, the man threatened her if she did not send explicit photos of herself. He has been charged with child exploitation.
“What we are seeing is that there is a ton of activity, there are a ton of people being bought and sold for sex in our community,” said Dominique Roe-Sepowitz, Director of Sex Trafficking Intervention Research at Arizona State University. Roe-Sepowitz also says that victims are being forced to do more to attract attention due to changes caused by COVID-19.
A 30-year-old man was arrested and charged with engaging in child sex trafficking in Denton, Texas. He allegedly rented hotel rooms where he would have minors engage in sex work and kept all of the money they made.
